Greetings all,

I have a quick question regarding a 1-855 number and Call Pilot.

We have a 1-855 number which terminates on our Callpilot (1006R with 5.0). We have a menu tree added to the SDN table for said number. For the service DN, I have tried: 1-855-xxx-xxxx, 855-xxx-xxxx, and even taking out the 855. It doesnt seem to work. When the calls hit the CP, the generic "welcome to callpilot" greeting plays. No menu.

The CP is attached to a CS1000E rls 7.5. The callpilot services both Centrex and PBX clients.

As a side note: when a centrex client wishes to have a 1-800 # forwarded to our callpilot with a menu attached, the Telco sets them up with the 1-800 # and what they call a "daf" .. which is essentially a phantom number that they throw on a set. The 1-800 is terminated on this daf, then the daf is forwarded to the CP.

This situation is a bit different in that we are part of PBX Operations. Is it possible that we need to set up a dummy DID and have the 1-855 # terminating on said DID?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks a bunch.

You need to know from the telco, exactly what digits they are sending you. They are hopefully sending you the call on a PRI/E1 etc, you should dictate to them what number you want it to go to (does not have to be a DID with this method). If it does not terminate on a circuit, then you will need to use a DID number, (programmed as a CDN not a regular phone number for the below method)
Once you have that estabilshed, there are several methods to get the call to hit voice mail, one of the simpler methods is to build a CDN in LD 23 using the digits the telco are sending you as the CDN number and NFCW to your voice mail main number (whatever your phones point to to get to voice mail)In voice mail, if you have a menu set up, you will need to set up a Service Directory Number for the CDN and reference it to your menu. Test and see what you get.

if you have PRI, turn on dchannel messaging and call the number from your cell phone. You should see it come into your system and what number is called. That is an easy way to see what the LEC is sending you.
