Hello,

I am starting a new job soon which is currently using Metaframe 1.8, but is upgrading to XP in about 6 months. I don't have much experience with Citrix and wanted to buy a book to get a heads up on things beforehand. My question is will buying an XP book provide enough info to work with 1.8, or would buying a 1.8 book provide enough info on XP, or are they two different animals and I should buy a book on each? Thank you for any help anyone can provide. If you have any recommendations on informative books to purchase I'd appreciate that too.

I think, if you're new to Citrix, the free, downloadable book at is highly recommended - even if it is only up to chapter 4 so far!

Whatever you can learn about the Terminal Services O/S you are using would also be useful - check out
for NT4 TSE - although the Terminal Services Reference stuff is still valid. It's getting harder to find a copy, however.

And for Windows 2000;
- even though this doesn't go in-depth into Terminal Services like the NT4 TSE book above, it's proved indispensible to me for understanding the underlying O/S (or, at least, finding answers to hard questions!)

For a detailed study of MetaFrame XP;

And for the CCA;

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
