We have 2 Exchange servers in our organization, one 2003 and one 2000. Yesterday our Exchange 2000 server crashed hard and I am unable to bring it back to life. Most user mailboxes are on the newer 2003 server so little was lost and I was willing to just accept and leave it.
The problem is that now whenever a client attempts to hit send/receive from their Outlook client, an error message pops up saying '0x8004010F Object could not be found'. They are able to send and receive all of thier mail, view address books, etc, they just keep getting this error.
I read a thread that suggested Offline Address lists may be a problem. I've checked Exchange System Manager, and OAL is configured for the correct server, the one that is still online.
Anyone know what else may be the cause of this? It looks like there's some sort of hook into the old mail server somewhere that I'm missing.
