I have a norstar 0x320 with DR6.1 software and all users have t7316e phones.
the receptionist has some blf buttons on her phone and when someine call forwards their phone the receptionist sees an icon that looks like 3-handsets next to the blf button of the phone which is forwarded. Today, this forward icon stopped appearing.
I reprogrammed the blf button on the reception phone, re-forwarded the other phone and no forward indicator appears. I can press the blf button and the phone rings but when the end-user forwards their phone the Norstar does not show the forwarded icon anymore next to the users blf button user. I have also tried other extensions and no luck. Same issue. Anyone have run into this before?

Check the reception set to see if it is programmed as a CAP terminal and also check to see if is set as a Direct Dial set. If it's properly programmed, it may be either the BLF is the problem or the T7316e may not be getting the 18.5 volts needed from the station pair. If it's got 18.5, more than likely the BLM is the problem.

If it were me, I'd switch out the BLM for a T24 KIM. The BLM's seem to have more problems on the T series than the M series because of the dedicated power pair for the M's.

Good Luck__

The Receptionist has a T7316e phone ONLY and does not use a CAP or KIM.
There are 2-buttons on the receptionist phone that are programmed as BLF {Feature *2} buttons only which are for the President and Vice-President only.

In addition there are a few other T7316e phones that also have BLF buttons programmed {Feature *2} as well and they too have the same issue.

The system is on a UPS with 2-hours of back-up and the voltages test fine for the Digital phones. The longest cable run is 100'.

By the way, I have another customer with similiar issues and they have a CICS with 7.1 software and 14-T7316e phones.

I thought the blf was an extension of the M7310, not T series, the KIM 24 or T24 is for the T series

Simply put, we are talking about T7316e telephones only.
I have programmed 3-buttons on the T7316e phone by doing FEATURE * 2, touch the button and enter the 3-digit extension number of the user.
Now, these 2-buttons light up when the associated extension is busy and I can press also press the button the extension will ring.

No external KIM or CAP/DSS/BLF Modules are in use.

is the receptionist phone the only one with the issue?

have you tried programming the button on a different button?

have you tried swapping the phone?

Now that's standard programming, so I'm not sure if it works now or not, but if it does not work, try programming a F*3, like F5 last number re-dial to see if that button will take any programming. Could it be the phone is going on the fritz?

sam173 he is talking about the actual appearance, not the button maintaining programming.

Thats where my suggestion of programming it on another button to see if it is the display that has the issue.

and also like i said usually swapping out the phone solves the issue

I swapped the phone out and same issue.

I also re-programmed the feature on another button and same issue.

Reset the system, no change. Issue still remains.

I would agree with phoneguy610, also, when you swapped the phone was the extension changed, just trying to isolate what could cause this.

Indicator" beside the "Auto dial"

Try disabling the port then re-enable in maintenance or install a 7208 on that port then back to the 16.

So the DND and In use indicators work?

I disabled the port and re-enabled but no change.

Plugged in a 7208 and then back to 7316e and all is working.

Thank you so much to all those who contributed to this thread.
I hope this will help others in the future!

Best Regards!
