0S 8.6 to OS 9.1

Started update this morning ... immediate message "Firmware is out of date ... updates are in CD Extras folder... follow instructions"

When I opened the CD Extras folder there appear to be NO instructions. In an "Additional Help" folder, I found an Apple Software Installer. Is that what I use to update the firmware or am I missing something else.

in my experience, I can never find the firmware on CD either. I've always had to search Apple.com for the firmware update i need and download it.
