hi all
i work with proC and DB2 v7.2.6
i need some help or information about the message 0911N timeout or deadlock
i'm nearly sure that the lock table gestion is good but sometimes i keep having this error that rollback all my information
is there a way to avoid it??

Thanks a lot for your precious help.

Stressman,

not sure about your environment. I can give a bit of guidance as to what happens on the mainframe and maybe it will point you in the correct direction.

I run under CICS using dynamic plan allocation. Within CICS we have ROLBE=YES set. This effectively means when we have a timeout or deadlock we will rollback with a -911 SQLCODE.
If I set ROLBE=NO then the deadlock would finish with a -913 but the UOW wouldn't be rolled back.

If your getting lots of these maybe you need to review the application design or the db2 locking strategy you have in place.

Cheers
Greg
