0503-003 geninstall: The specified device /install is not a valid dev

When using "smitty install" to install Mozilla.base, I get the following error message:

0503-003 geninstall: The specified device /install is not a valid device or file.

oslevel -r = 5300-03

The file Mozilla.base is in /install

I also tried:

LANG=C;export LANG before I ran smitty.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try this:

cd /install
inutoc .

then perform the install again.

If this is an NFS dir, you may have to do that inutoc on the NFS server side.

Also check the permissions on the dir and its files.

Thanks....I did that, it works now....but what I also found was that the /usr/sbin/installp was missing. How could that have happened??
