I had the understanding that 016 cards could only work with processors cke4 and higher due to memory access issues. I tried to swap my cke3 with a cke4 this morning and it failed (renumber and restore worked, looked like it came up, but i didn't get any audio from my T1 or PRI--the calls would set up, you could see them go out, but no audio to the caller), so I gave up and went back to my cke3, but installed the two 016trr's anyway. I figured I'd only get 12 ports. When I tested it, I got dialtone and could make calls on 13-16 also. Anyone have an explanation?

Also, one of the 016trr's I got isn't recognized by WinSPM (I get the error that it isn't recogznied by the system, and quick access will be unavailable until that is corrected), but if I do an inventory I get 016 TRR NO FW, hardware vintage 04, firmware vintage 11, but application vintage is blank. The working card is 016 TRR, hardware 04, firmware 11, application 04. Is this card dead, or can I do something to it to make it work, or is it a card that will only work with a cke4/5?

May or may not have an answer on the T1.

I had an exact same thing happen on a NEW install with a USED T1 card. Calls went thru, no voice.

The card was "NEWER", a "617N" I believe. Research showed that card has the CSU built in, and we theorized that in an earlier set up, the CSU had been activated. OF course, with a R7 Legend, we could not do anything with it.

An older T1 card solved the problem.

I do not know about the 016TRR.

I tried to do a Firmware upgrade on a non-firmware-upgradeable card and after teh upgrade failed it said No firmware just like your and never worked again.

Let me guess, you are using winspm R8???? I have all kinds of issues with that version. I am convinced that WInspm R8 made my legend R7 that I was working on today take a dump. I logged in to the legend, next thing I know, my printer settings are out of wack and then I got disconnected by a "fatal winspm error". I couldn't use the programm since. When I powered off the legend to add my new card, BAM, my alarm light is blinking and my status indicator is going from cold start to D to cold start to D. Anyway, to get back on track, winspm will not reconize certain cards. It should reconize an 016ttr, but, for instance, it will not reconize an 800ls card. The card still worked and I can do whatever to it in standard SPM, yet quickaccess would reconize it. Then again, who uses quick access anyway besides some of my customers?

Hmmm....

Merlinman--thanks for the idea. The odd thing is if I swap back to the orignal process, i have no problem. And the result (no audio) was the same on both cards-one PRI one T1.

ttech-- that could very well be what happened to the 2nd 016trr card. It is used, with somewhat questionable origins.

Jinxs-- I'm actually using WinSPM 5. Maybe I need to get a newer version. I'll have to see if I can find one to download.

Avaya's website has all upgrades needed to go to R8, go to the support link and software downloads, and then legend/magix and I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

I've heard that R8 isn't very reliable. Any thoughts?
