016 TTR outside line

im having problems getting analog phones or fax machines to get an outside line with my 016 TR, i have lines assigned and they will ring in but when i dial 9 to get a dial tone, as soon as i try to dial a number i get an error tone

yeah, i have lines assigned to a few ports on the 016. first port has all lines assigned for night ringer, and the next port has 2 lines for fax. when i plug in the fax or even just a plain telephone i get the SA tone, dialing 9 gets an outside line off the hook, but dialing any other numbers gives the error tone (repeating 2 pitch signal).

incoming calls and internal calls work fine.

Check the restriction levels of the extensions.

O.k., how abput auto-line selection. You will need to go into centralized programming. Here is how it will lay out, when you get into the ext you want to program, you select the sa button first. Then enter in *14 for autoline selection. Then Select the first line you want to dial out on and so on. When you are finished selecting lines, press **14. Sometimes that is an issue with keyed systems.

Do you use (auto line selection) in cntr-prog or do you use *14 as the comand?

Was the system ever in hybrid mode?

Since it is a single line ext, you need to use it from cntr-prg. Otherwise, you can just use it from program mode on any digital or hybrid phone.
