Hello everyone. I haven't been on for a while due to traveling with work...

Well, I had a Magix release 3.0 crash yesterday. It had 2 ETR cards in it. After trouble shooting, I found that my first ETR card was crashing the system, and with it in, it wasn't allowing me to boot up the system.

Is this a known problem on 3.0?? I recall someone mentioning this?? Will this happen again if it is?? How to avoid??

I don't think it is confined to the 3.0, but rather with the ETR cards. I have had the same problem with both 2.2 and 3.0 magixes. Fortunatly, both under warranty and able to get the card overnighted. Also, the last one had the ETR as the 3rd card in the system, and the system continued to work with the card removed. Had an 800 and a 100D after it!

Same here, except it was a legend R7 with 5 ETR cards. I had to figure out which one it was.

Well, I have others out there with 2 and 3 ETR's and I've never had this before. Will this happen again??

I'm guessing that the problem is with the manufacturing revision of the card. You might check for a QPPCN (or whatever it is called now) or escalate it with Avaya.

Well, I really hope this doesn't happen again. We got them up and running again today. Are the newer releases better than the older ones or vise versa??

regarding your 016 etr issues, i have a customer that came from a partner to a magix and wanted to keep their mls and partner phone sets. shortly after the install the system crashed, a new 016 etr was installed and it crashed also. i placed a call to the tso and recieved an e-mail with a photo showing a capacitor that tier iv says is in backwards.
in all i have replaced 5 016 etr cards and have suggested to the customer that he go with 4400 phone sets and tdl cards.

Can you send me a copy of that e-mail. I would like to see that. Any idea which tier iv engineer it came from????
