Hi folks,
I have a Legend 7.0 in carrier 1 with 32 extensions and the following in carrier 2:

Slot 07
012 board - 517J13 12 ports
HW 04
FW 34

Slot 08
012 board - 517J13 12 ports
HW 02
FW 51

The slot 08 is actually the Voicemail MLM007 unit. Why does that show up as a 012 board? Slot 7 is actually an 012 board with ring gen. Are both of these actually used for VM ? The NUMBER on these are all in the 7000 range. That made me think they are reserved for VM. I was wondering if I could use these for regular phones (non-MLX) or if they are effectively reserved. I hooked a regular phone on one of the ports and it dialed a call no problem. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Yes, an 007MLM will show as a 12 port Tip/Ring board in inventory.

The 012 in slot 7 is just a 12 port card for single line devices like faxes, modems, and single-line telephones.

The 7100 extension numbers are the default ones in "Set Up Space" numbering plan - you will renumber actual, in-use extensions to something that fits with your other extesnions. I usually renumber the VM ports as 601, 602, 603, etc. so I can call each one without having to look up a customer's dial plan first.
