Well,

Our office just moved (yesterday), and when we setup the phone system (Legend R2 PBX + 007MLM) at the new place, the extensions worked fine, but the 007MLM module VM LEDs were out, while the Status LED was on. Did a board renumber and the MLM VM LEDs go green, but no AA or VM. And cannot get to it with the standard 770 internal extension dialing.

Where did it go? How can I access it again? How do I display the board configuration from an MLX-20L? Also (lot of questions - sorry) did we lose the programming? Setup is as described below. Thanks all. You saved my butt before, maybe again. We go live tomorrow.. :)

James

Sounds as if the module was not installed in it's original location.

If you are using the default 2-digit number plan, dial the actual ports for were the card is now located (i.e.: 70, 71, etc.) for however many VM ports you have.

If they do, you will need to delete the old extension numbers and insert the new ones..

Sys Program > Exit > Extensions > MORE > Grp Calling > Members > [Enter 770] > ENTER > INSPECT. Make a note of the current extension numbers, if they are incorrect, go back and delete them, then insert the correct numbers. When done, you should be back up and running.

Thanks franke,

We don't have access to the building yet after hours (yet to get us badges), but will check tomorrow.

I know that the boards are in the same orientation as before (we numbered them before the move, thankfully), but have not tried your procedure. Will pursue and report back. Thanks again!

If the green port lites of the 007 are not coming on, it sounds like the hard drive may have problems. Can you connect a serial cable to the RS232 port on the 007 and watch the boot sequence with Hyperterminal? It might give you a clue as to what is going wrong. Brian Cox

All,

Well, looks like the unit was actually reset, and the programming lost, because the battery in our processor is bad. Sure enough, the date on our MLX-20L displays Jan 01. We are restoring the system presently from a remote backup ($$) done a few months ago. More info to follow. "Something stinks in the state of Denmark..." :(

So, any upgrade ideas for an old R2 system? Can I go to an R6 or R7? Any compatibility issues?

Also, how easy is it for us to set up our own terminal to program and backup this system? Do we need a special license or software package? Chances are we will get a glitch (even though, yes, we are on a UPS) or someone will cycle the power unwittingly.

Again, thanks for your help.

James

in a 2 digit your station 2 digit stop at 67 & then contunie as 4 digit 6800 in release 2, in setting up it is best to setup as setup space 4 didits 7100 to 7299 then renumber to a 3 digit station count say 100 t,hen you have from 2 to 6 to do as you please for specials digits, paging, calling grps ect.

No compatibility problems with R6 or R7. You can even convert your current R2 backup to R6 or R7 and then restore it to the new processor. You need to use WinSPM software to convert your backup, and to backup and restore. Brian Cox
