How do you find what release these are? In system inventory it shows as an 0x12 module.

I believe they are all the same release. They are equivelent to a Merlin Mail R3.

There are a few different releases in board numbers there is a sticker just inside the port cover REV B-N are all I have seen but they all work as R3 just a few bug fixes nothing major between the REV.

~Kim,
Contact Avaya tech support, and they can go in remotely and determine the release of the MLM.

On this thread ....

I have found several versions of the 007MLM software from 1.0 to 1.2.2 being the latest.

Does anyone know if the embedded CPM DOS has a DEFRAG program which runs either periodically or on reboot?

Atratagydk and Kim Mcdade,

You are correct in stating that there are numerous releases of the MLM-007's operating software since it was first released. I don't know that there is any value in knowing what release the MLM-007 is unless you are attempting repairs to board level components.

The MLM-007 is basically identical to the Merlin Mail R3.0 standalone and was designed to be the integrated module version of the MM R3.0. There are numerous versions of the circuit board just as there are a couple different version of the MM R3.0 motherboard and bios chipsets. Each one is designed to either fix a software or component level circuitry problem that arose after the previous release was put into service.

The CPM based proprietary software on either the MLM-007 or MM R3.0 does not automatically run any "defrag" programs to repair the hard drives. When the hard drive gets corrupted or develops "bad sectors" ... or when the software begins to show intermittent errors in operation .... it is best to have it repaired by a voice mail specialist.
