I have a customer that needs some AA tweaking, and I *think* I know what the issue is, but wanted some imput before running off to try.

Customer has an 007MLM and the AA answers all calls. It says to press 1 for parts, etc... That part works fine. The issue is that you can dial 8 and then the extension # for a user if you know it. If I dial 8, and then ext. 1760 it rings 3 times, and I the VM says this ext. is unavailable and it transfers my call to somewhere else. This is only occuring on ext. 1760.

My thought was that the VM box is not setup for that extension, and also that when I dial the 8 and then the 1760 ext. # the AA is seeing that I dialed a 1 and then transfers to parts regardless of what the other digits are (since 1 is the selector code for dir-ext-xfer to the parts dept. ext.) Wouldn't this be in what the selector code 1 is set to transfer to?

I don't concurr with your analysis.

First off, dialing the 8 eleminates the 1 choice.

But, either way, here's my theory, AND I'M STICKING TO IT!

All that's wrong is 1760 has no mail box in the 007.

It IS in the COVER GROUP, but when it covers, the 007 knows not what to do with it.

Give it a Mail Box, and the trouble should go away.

Thanks mm. I'll setup the vm box and give it a shot.

Are all you extentions 4-digits in length? What is the maximum extention length set to in Legend Mail? If the maximum extention length in voicemail is set to 3 - then the VM would try to transfer you to ext 176 - instead of 1760.

The default security option in Legend Mail is that you cannot transfer from the AA to an extention that does not have a mailbox in the system. So Merlinman is right - that if 1760 does not have a mailbox - you can't dial it from within the AA using direct extention transfer or *8.
