I have an MLM 007 module without an RJ-45 connector on it (not one I can find anyway). I am looking into the possiblity of unified messaging and from what I can see, it needs one to connect to the network switch.

What part am I looking for to add to my MLM 007?

Thanks!

Lonnie

The MLM 007 does not have network connectivity. You need a newer merlin messaging of an aftermatker Voice mail for unified messaging

Are there other cards (besides the MLM 007) that run Merlin Messaging revision 3 that fit a Merlin Legend system?

Only Merlin Messaging - It comes in several versions, the latest is R4.

Well, if you dont want Merlin Messaging, you could look into Intuity Audix, but talk about expensive. The Audix LX is extremely high, and the equipment is a bit bulky too.

Before you go off and buy anything, why do you want LAN connectivity?

Everyone,

Thanks for all the info. Audix is probably way outside the price range.

Pepperz,

I would like Lan connectivity mainly for unified messaging, but any other applications as well that may be useful with connectivity.

What did you have in mind?

Unified Messaging doesn't equal unified messaging, if you know what I mean. The unified Messaging on the Merlin Messaging R 3 and above is limited. Unified Messaging on some systems (DuVoice is one) includes FAX as well as voice mails. If Voice Mail is all that is desired, Merlin Messaging is nice because it also includes a spiffy administration interface that makes AA setup a breeze. It also includes the announcement ports for calling group functions if needed.

We already have a solution for faxing, so only voice mail would be required. So what do I need to do this? Is it a plug in module to the 007 or is it a different card?

Thanks!

Lonnie

007MLM is an older card that does not offer LAN connectivity. The newer Merlin Messaging does offer it, and Rel 3.0 or 4.0 also offers Unified Messaging. Before adding Merlin Messaging, your Legend will ahve to be upgraded to Legend R 7.0 or Magix software in order to run the Merlin Messaging.

Call you phone vendor. They should be familiar with your needs and able to Offer a solution that fits them
