Hi everybody,

I have a centralized architecture with a callmanager in the main site and SRST gateway in the distant sites.
Can I allocate the 000 (I have more than 100 sites) as the site identification for the main site or there is a restriction on using the 000?

Thanks in advance
Nabil

There's no restriction on using 000 as long as it doesn't interfere with the dialing plan. I'm unclear as to what you mean by 'site identification'. If it's a simple number used in Decription boxes, it's no problem at all. If it's an 'Access Code' that must be dialed for Intra-site dialing, then it will interfere with dialing '0' for reaching the Internal Operator if you use '0' to get to the Operator.

Yes it's for intra-site dialing.
So it will interfere with operator unless i put a digit other than 0 to get to the operator, right?

Correct. But any other digit you use for the Operator will take out a large chunk of available DN's. How many digits are in your dial plan??

5 digits (3 for the site identification and two for the phones in the site)

I did the same thing with 2 customers, SiteCode + XXX for the DN's. For sites 01-09, I used 51-59 instead of 01, etc. figuring they'll never grow to Site 50 or above. It may bite me later but by then ..... :)
If your sites are numbered 000-150 or such, use a different leading digit. Start with a 5 or something for the first 100 sites, 500XX-599XX then go back to 100XX-150XX. At least there will be relationship between the second and third digits to the site code. It's not ideal but using a leading 0 is traditionaly not a good idea. Unless you can see yourself growing to 500+ sites.
