To get an updated IOS you need to have a valid service contract; I don't believe that Cisco regard software licences as being transferrable (although this is possibly illegal in some countries) so they are unlikely to offer a service contract to secondhand equipment.
When BGP peering to a loopback address, is it neccessary to use the ebgp-multihop command? What are the consequences if you don't - unstable peerings, or will the peerings simply not come up?
If you use the loopback address as the update source, is it neccessary to also use ebgp-multihop in...
I've got 3 routers which I'm going to connect to each other using 2 switches, one subnet on each switch. I'll then run internal BGP between them (each router has one or more external BGP peerings). When connecting like this, should I give each router a loopback address and use these addresses in...
Anyone know the SNMP OID which would allow me to read any BGP information from a 7200 router - in particular, I want to be able to determine if a BGP session is up.
Thanks!
Its set up in bridge mode (I want to be able to start load balancing existing servers with minimal changes to the server setup). Maybe I should try router mode.
When a server is behind a CSM module in a 6500, should it be possibile for the server to initiate a connection outbound? I can load balance traffic inbound, and can gain direct access inbound by configuring 2 IPs on the server, and serverfarms with just one server, but i can't ping outwards...
Just for the record, these are the commands I used to limit traffic from one IP. they are applied to one port (3/29), but it should be possible to apply to a vlan instead. Not exactly a logical syntax, is it? Traffic hovers around 2.5Mbps with the commands in place.
set qos policer aggregate...
Thanks. I'm trying now to implement using qos policers in CatOS, but without success so far. Wonder why the rate-limiting commands are there, if IOS can't do it?
I have a Cisco 6506 with MSFC; runs CatOS and IOS. I want to be able to rate-limit vlans. 'sh int vlan' counters in IOS appear to be useless; I assume thats because it must only count the first few packets of a given flow. I'm not using Multilayer switching. I can't seem to switch to a different...
Can anyone tell me what is the minimum IOS version I need to run a CSM module WS-X6066-SLB-APC, Software 3.1(6).
The 6500 Switch runs CatOS 8.3(3), with IOS on the MSFC2 version 12.1(8a)E5, there don't seem to be any load balancing commands available and I can't work it out. CSM loads OK, I...
