    Ill 10 Starting issues

    When I start illustrator 10 it shows the palettes but thats it. Theres no File, Edit, View, canvas... basically no illustrator window. Just palettes on a desktop. When I click where the canvas or file should be it just activates the desktop. Any ideas? thanks
