OK. So I've been trying to find a way to automate the install of vnc on client machines. I've read some steps on UltraVnc's site and that didn't really do much but, I did check out fastpush which did work and the only problem that I need to figure out is how do I apply the administrative...
Well, the screen saver lock is working perfectly. I tried it out on three sites so far. I will be pushing it out on the whole Domain tomorrow. Thanks for your help guys. Did you ever get it to work properly with GPO? It's working fine for me. [2thumbsup]
Ok. So far the test on two computers worked perfectly. I used the "logon.scr" for the screen saver and set it for 8 minutes. I then pushed the policy out to one site. Problem though, it's affecting my citrix server when users are using citrix. So far it seems that it may happen when users close...
Thanks. Now what I'm seeing so far is that "blank.scr" isn't a screen saver in XP or 2000 on the computers I have on my network. I'm not sure where you're getting that screen saver from if your using up to date Windows XP and Windows 2000 computers. I'm working on testing this group policy on an...
Ok. I've downloaded the upgrades, but how do you install them?? I understand what your problem was. I'm trying to find out how and where the group policy setting is for doing an automatic screen lock is in group policy because I can't find it.
I have a Windows 2003 Server as a DC and Windows 2000 and XP clients. I would like to test it here first before pushing it out to other site locations.
Where did you find the options in Windows 2003 Server to make those changes for group policy? I'm unable to find those options for locking the computer.
I'm actually using Windows 2000 as the test platform. I haven't had a problem with XP applying group policies before, yet I do I have a test computer with XP that won't apply a group policy that does work on XP machines. I haven't had time to mess with what I'm doing. I'm going to try another...
Yeah, but I want to do this for over 100 users. It would be really crappy to have to go to each individual computer to make that change. Besides that though, I'm having an issue with the policy applying. The computer I'm testing it on won't take the policy changes.
You're getting what I want to do mixed up. I actually want to make the my documents folder on everyone's computer go to there home directory. I want the target location of the my documents folder to change to the home directory. I think I found a way of doing it with a group policy, but I'm...
Is there a way that I could map a network drive to the My Documents folder remotely. I want to be able to do this for 100+ computers and would like to do by using an existing batch file that runs as a login script for the users. Anyone know how I can accomplish this?
Something is definitely wrong with the time. Thanks for the info. I just finished testing it on my account. I tried it on my Outlook 2003 and it works fine, but when I try to do it on Outlook 2000 I get an error. First let me tell you how I created the prf. I copied the info you gave me into...
I checked it out and I wasn't able to find a prf file that Outlook created. I've been searching on the web about prf files. It seems that a prf file may only be used per user, meaning that for one user at a time since there user name is included in it. I'm trying to find a way that no matter...
I'm not sure what type of file that is and what it deals with. I'll check the web on what that file is. Is there something that I can do with that file to reach my goal?
Good Day everyone.
I'm trying to find out if there is a way for me to add a service in Outlook & Outlook 2003 automatically using a login script via a batch file. I want all the users to have an LDAP service added to there Outlook account on there computer so that when they open up Outlook and...
