now nobody can access Goldmine due to it not being able to find a file. Can I fix this without reinstalling the entire program from the server all the way down to the workstations? Please HELP!

I need to switch my sales reps from using the notes tab section (before it is too late) to using the history tab section. The notes section was very easy and did it all, however upon learning that the date/time stamp can be manually altered, I definitely need to find a replacement option...
How can I prevent users from manually changing the date/time stamp in the notes section? All records are given complete ownership upon being entered into Goldmine. Is that is what is causing them to have that ability?

Essentially what I would like to do is be able to create a contact record and set an alert to popup on sales rep's screen after I designate who the lead is going to. I can do this now, however, it doesn't popup until the rep actually views the contact record on the screen.
