I've just had the same problem and solved it for the second time (I couldn't remember how I did it a couple of years ago). Can you force DBs to be members of the same Replica Set?
Does anyone know if you can convince two databases from different replica sets that they are members of the same replica set? Perhaps by changing data in the hidden tables? New data has been added to two NON-replica copies, and synchronising them by hand is going to be a big pain because of...- jjlw
