Hello,
We have updated our old server to server 2008 R2 and I am adjusting to the "new" way of defining permissons to folders.
I have a hidden share called Users with 20 users folders nested inside. I want to make sure that "mary" can not open "jim's" folder to see the contents in the event...
Terry,
As noted above, depending on the intent of your statement determines whether you use cannot, can not, should not, shouldn't, have not, haven't etc. BTW - when I went to school way back when cannot was not a sigle word, but two seperate words.
Perhaps I "oughtn't" have brought it up at...
Hi Tony,
For example, if I write - "If we all work together then we can solve......" In this case the intent of the word then is a better choice then than, but word still flags it as a spelling error. I do have grammer checker off. Thanks.
MakeItSo,
No offense taken, but I work in a school system and I actually checked out the difference with the eng. teacher. So depending on the intent of my phrase determines the word choice. With that aside, the fact that MS word does not give me that choice is "maddening" which is why I would...
Hello,
This little spelling correction is driving me crazy.....well, not quite, LOL.
When I type a document I prefer to use the word then, but word always thinks I am spelling it wrong and that I should use the word than. The same thing takes place with can not. Yeah, it could have changed...
Linney,
Thank you. Your post set me in the right direction. I discovered that it was the hard drive. When the vendor was contacted they admitted they had gotten a bad batch of HDs. A new one is on the way. Hopefully all will install well.
I continue to get this installation error when installing a clean copy of Vista. I have deleted the partition, reformatted to no avail. Some of my research points to a bad hard drive. Looking to confirm this. It is a gateway md2614u laptop.
Thanks all
Unclerico,
Can you send me a bit more information on the 802.1x/Raduus solution. Is there a KB article or web site that explains this possible solution in more detail.
BTW - we have over 1500 nodes and not enough tech's so DHCP is our only option.
Thanks
Hello,
We have a large network and limited bandwith/network services. We are also a school system. Our problem is the kids are using their iPods, iPhones, cell phones and MP3 players on the computers. As a result it grabs an IP from DHCP, creates other problems and just becomes a headache...
Hello,
I am a "newbie" at dreamweaver and just used their Spry Menu option to add a horizontal dropdown menu. It works great in FireFox, but in IE7 the very last menu item runs off the page.
What I have discovered is that if I change the width for one menu or submenu it chages it for all the...
Hello,
Thanks for the tips - the certificate does have valid dates, but may be referencing an incorrect address so I have sent a request off to the company. For the moment I believe the error may be on their side. If I hear back I will post to the thread to let everyone know.
Thanks
Hello,
When users go to access a secure site they get a "There is a problem with this website's security certificate". I add the site to the trusted sites list and install the certificate without a problem, but the error continues.
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
The users has created a folder in their inbox and when he moves recieved mail to the folder it can not be viewed. The properties of the box show there are 107 messages in the folder - we know they are there. If we access the mailbox via OWA the messages are visable. I have cleared all rules...
Hello Shack Daddy,
I have figured it out. Once I added an A record and a PTR record into my DNS the site came up. The ISP still needs to resolve our login issues to the portal, but that is on their end.
I want to thank you for all information. It was very helpful in giving me ideas and areas...
ShackDaddy,
Whne I do a ping on our domain it points to another server on the network and not the DNS server. The sever it points to does not have DNS installed. So when I do the NSlookup it can not find the server the portal appears to be pointing at. I need to learn how or figure out how I...
Hello,
We are running AD and DNS on a server 2000 box. We are attempting to access a portal hosted on another domain. When I do an nslookup I get the following.
username.domain>nslookup portal.domain.com
*** Can't find server name for address 10.10.10.1: Non-existent domain

Some suggestions as to where I should look would be great. Thanks...
