sorry but I was mistaken in my last entry. GRE is a protocol, not a tcp port. 47 is the protocol type. In order to allow GRE to pass on my Linksys I had to configure the Linksys to allow PPTP passthrough. And as said in my last entry every firewall between the two machines must allow for PPTP...- donnie00

I have seen this same type problem using the Linksys ADSL Router/Switch. TCP port 1723 is used by pptp to establish a session between the two machines. After the session has been established, if your doing pptp the GRE protocol is used to actually encapsulate the data. GRE is protocol 47...- donnie00
