Hard disk boot failure / bios problem?
That sounds really strange. A useful hard drive utility I found is hdat2 from www.hdat2.com. It lets you look at lots of the settings and properties of the drive. If it can detect the hard drive maybe it can give some insight into what the problem is. It's just strange that the drive seems...- iamthecheese

Samsung SP1213N Wrong Native Size
I managed to fix it. I got a freeware hard drive utility called hdat2 (www.hdat2.com if I remeber correctly). I used this and it was able to detect the actual size and change both the drives current size and native size. Next boot the BIOS detected it perfectly fine. There's something on the...- iamthecheese

2nd HDD not seen by WinXP
Try going into control panel-->administrative tools-->computer manager and look for "Disk Management" tab. See if it shows up there.- iamthecheese

Samsung SP1213N Wrong Native Size
I got a new Samsung sp1213n. The drive size was 6.5GB in windows xp for some reason, so I downloaded samsung's hard drive utility (hutil.exe) to resize it to its real size of around 120GB. In hutil.exe the "Drive size" was 6500MB (approx) and the "native size" showed up as 114498MB. I forget...- iamthecheese
