Thanks guys.. I had been focusing on the router also.. I've did unplug it and let it restart.. but I like (and should have thought of ) eliminating the router in the mix and going right to the modem..

The website in question is NOT financial, or anything like that.
and remember, I can access it from outside the 'problem' environment. Only problem is machines behind that one particular router/modem. I took the laptop to another network and it accesses that site no problems

CABLE is broadband..not DSL
and the problem happened with all 4 of the machines on the network at the same time which would seem to eliminate the temp files as the culprit
