OUCH .. so basically, to update the office one would need to not only purchase a CAL for every computer that is connected to the network as well as the OS itself? .. that IS gonna be a pretty penny.

this might have already been done but it doesn't hurt to ask:
under start -> settings -> control panel -> printers
right click on the printer and under the security tab does the user name "Everyone" or the other specific user you are trying to allow printing from have "Print" Permissions...
