    Hi letournp Need to take of now - will get back to ya tomorrow. But what you mean by 166/106/127 and 135 Go ? Is it GB ? As i already said, NetBackup doesn't do anything actually, it just writes a tar file to tape. ....but will get backup 2 u 2morrow with detailed info's. Cheers Flave

    But is the client name on the master server the same as the master servers name ? You can check that through the BAR GUI or in the registry or also through NetBackup itself, host properties, Master Server, right mouse button and properties.     Hi The compression is always made by the drive, never through the application. If you see the possibility for compression somewhere on the master server setting, this means to compress the data on the client side before sending it to the network. But its only use is on poor network performance...

    How happy are you with NetBackup?

    Hi As long as you don't working in an heterogeneous network nor in a SAN environment, you better keep hands of NetBackup - it will be to expensive. You rather would work with cheaper tools (CA, BackupExec or so), but it also depense on the amount of data you will backup. Don't understand me...

    Hi NetBackup allways checkes the network to be sure that it is the right client with the right permissions. It is a security issue. Anyway, do you have more than one LAN Interface on the master server, if so, please set the required interface on the master server. Check also full/half duplex...
