I have what I fear is a pretty bad problem with the above error message. I was running spybot in safe mode and upon rebooting, I began hearing a clicking sound from the PC and I cannot get it to startup.
Upon booting, it immediately goes to a black screen that says "Primary drive 0 not found...
Thanks again tlc...Created a new profile and it didn't work.
Ran as administrator and that didn't work either.
Safe mode with networking is still the only way to get on.
Thanks TLC. I tried both of your suggestions and unchecking IP V6 completely blocked my wireless connection (again i AM able to establish a connection, but for some reason none of my browsers can get online).
And I reset the winsock connection and still not able to get online.
Weird, I can...
The 6TO4 Adapter has an error message next to it and under properties it says "This device cannot start (code 10)."
Does that have any significance? Should I try uninstalling this and rebooting? Any other ideas?
Just did it and still nothing. On the reboot it sucessfully reinstalled the drivers for the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection. But Int Explorer is still not able to display webpages.
Actually, before I do this I want to be certain I'm uninstalling the right thing.
Under Device Manager, then Network Adapters, there are a few objects. Which one of these is the one I should uninstall?
6t04 Adapter
Bluetooth Personal Area Network
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection...
Ok, so it's an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection.
I clicked on it and it says it's working properly, but you think I should uninstall it? Before I do this, will I be easily able to reinstall it? Will I need software or anything to reinstall it?
Ok, progress!
It works in safe mode. I have Symantic Antivirus running. And Vista has it's own Window's Security Center with firewall running.
Again, this all happened after upgrading to firefox 3. Where do you think I should look to see the problem?
I typed that address and nothing came up. It still won't connect, even though I have a wireless connection established.
I also just checked the LAN settings and no proxy server setting was established. It is still set to automatically detect settings.
Ugh. Any other ideas?
Ok, I pinged google and this is what came up:

Yes, I tried IE and Firefox. For whatever reason, after upgrading to Firefox 3 I can no longer go online with either.
I am definitely able to establish a wireless connection though or connect with a cable. Once connected, I can log into my laptop through another computer with my Logmein...
I have a Sony Vaio Laptop running Vista and I recently upgraded from Firfox 2 to 3. Once I completed the upgrade, I rebooted my Vaio and haven't been able to get back online since.
I can establish a wireless connection or even plug in a cable but both IE and Firefox still cannot access the...
Thanks for all your help.
It took about 20 attempts, but I was finally able to download Malwarebytes Anti-Spyware program from downloads.com and that did the trick.
That was the only thing that was able to get rid of this nasty little thing.
Thanks again.
Thanks again...When I went into the web tab, there was nothing in that box to check not even the "my current home page". It was completely blank.
I tried downloading SuperAntiSpyware from Downloads.com b/c it blocks the Superantispyware website directly. It took like 20 tries to download the...
Thanks.
Whenever I try to delete the 024 - Desktop Component with HiJack This it keeps coming right back. I can't delete it.
I've run the following in safe mode:
Spybot
A squared
CCleaner
AVG
And it still doesn't get rid of the problem. It seems like I have the google redirector / Antivirus...
Not sure what I got but I can't seem to fix this one. My computer keeps redirecting me to random sites and has blocked most anti-spyware sites and forums. I can't download any new programs and my computer is running insanely slow. After running spybot s&d I found FakeAlert.cc, Smitfraud-C...
Hey all. I was hoping to find some help with some nasty infection I got on my comp over the weekend. After running Adawre, SPybot, and the new MSFT spyware program repeatedly, I cannot seem to get rid of it. The ones that keep reappearing are Coolwebsearch, Exact.bargainbuddy, SearchRelevancy...
