aaaahhhhh!!! dell......*shudder* anyway, my first guess is a virus, but being a programmer, I'm sure you've covered that. by "shut down", do you mean it actually goes through the shutdown process, or that it just plain powers off? could be as serious as a memory fault, or as simple as a bad...- mebkc1981

new 160GB HDD only recognizing 133GB
first of all, this is a friend's computer, who's not that computer saavy. This is the info I have from him. he's running an Intel 865 chipset motherboard, 3.0GHz processor, XP pro, and just upgraded to a 160GB HDD. in windows (don't know about bios yet), he's showing 133GB of space, not what...- mebkc1981
