in order to create a PST or smaller PSTs of this one large mailbox, will I have to open it under an outlook profile and then create the individual PSTs based on date, for example? Isn't there a better way without using ExMerge?

Please help, I have a mailbox that is 9 GB! I am convinced the best way to do remove the mailbox is to run exmerge and then the offline defrag to clear up any white space. Is there another way to do this? The mailbox will be recreated, but as a PST and mail that used to go into the info store...
