Hey guys,
I have the cisco vpn .msi file. Is there anyway to make a package with this so it installs with the connections settings I need for my users so I woudnt' have to go to each user and set it up by hand?
Thanks!
Ok here is my setup. Three terminal server 2003 boxes that I want to use NLB for. Each have 2 nics. I set NIC1 as the regular network traffic Nic and Nic2 as the dedicated NLB Nic. Can both Nics be on the same subnet or should the dedicated NLB nic just be on its own subnet.
When I ping the...
i setup my servers with 2 nics. 192.168.100.xx and then i set nlb to use the second nic on each server. the weird part is that i can't ping those second nics between servers but i can ping them from any other machine besides the ones in the cluster. Not sure whats going on.
I feel as though the Cluster didn't delete properly and is affecting NLB. When I go to cluster administration I still see the cluster name there but its not accessible. Is that normal to still have it there?
Also I noticed that when that particular box goes down then the other two don't work. Is this how its supposed to work? Shouldn't NLB notice the dead link and just balance between the 2 remaining servers??
Thanks
So is appears everything is setup but I just logged 6 people in and they are got put on the same server. Does it only switch to another one when some sort of limit is hit??
Thanks
At the moment they are setup as a Cluster, but they don't seem to be handing clients to the least busiest server out of the 3 servers. Should it be able to do this, or is this what NLB does and I should just get rid of the cluster.
Thanks
Hey guys, right now my terminal servers are in a cluster. Can I NLB while they are in a cluster and is clustering even the way to go or should I just be using NLB and thats all?
Thanks!
Hey guys, first time using terminal server. I went to install an application on one of the terminal servers and got a message "Windows cannot access the specified path, file or device. You may not have the appropriate permissions". I was trying to install the software through a network share...
Hey guys, I was reading up on a getting a GPO so users connecting to a terminal server wouldn't have the option to see the shutdown button. From what I understand this is a user policy, but if I apply this policy to users won't this effect users on all the machines they log into not just the...
Tech Controller has my situation exactly right. I was looking at the 2960's but can they handle a fiber connection?? Thats why I was drawn towards the 3000 series. To be honest I reall don't know much about how fiber connections work. How does a dual multimode fiber run connect into a switch...
Would you have any other suggestions for closet switches? Need to be 48 port and 1gig ports and fiber connections Any other model more suitable for this situation?
Thanks again
I know each floor had multimode duplex fiber runs. The second switch on each floor will just connect into the first switch. I am new to fiber, so this help clarify things? We also have backup fiber runs going up to the data center as well. I was wondering about redundancy but wasn't sure which...
No not all ports will be used to begin with. We have somewhat of a grant so we are trying to get stuff in place now and be prepared for future growth in the next year or so.
I guess my question would be on the 4500 is that it appears to have so many connections in the picture. Is this device...
