Hi There,
One user in my company is not receiving external emails. She is receiving internal and can send out. We use POP3 with MS Outlook 2003.
I am wondering if this is the POP3 provider or an Exchange issue.
Best regards,
George
Hi there,
I am currently try to set up a shortcut on each of my users desktop to a share on the server. I would like this to be done automatically at logon and was wondering what was the best way to do this.
1) edit the logon scripts for the users?
2) Folder re-direction in group policy...
Thanks Pat,
The contingency site is on the campus connected by fibre which
has a gigabit link.
What I have to take into account for the 2007 clustering is the cost of a new server and the cost of the upgrade to exchange 2007 enterprise.
Is never fail reasonable in price?
Geo.
Thanks Zelandakh,
Yes it does seem like at awful lot of time. It's not the solution I would prefer as I would like to go down the route of the Exchange 2007 server using Cluster continuous replication.
I have to look at the costing for this.
Anyway thanks for your help. Also thanks John for...
As automatic failover is not required, we need to operative 12 hours after a disaster. Would an option be to image the complete Exchange 2003 server with something like Storage craft Shadow Protect which can restore an image hardware independently on to a server at our contingency site(update...
Thanks John,
Upgrading to Exchange 2007 may well be an option. I have also been looking at double take but that is in the region of £1,000 so maybe the upgrade will be viable. I will look at the costing and get back to you.
This may sound like a naive question but if we were to take either the...
Hi Everyone,
I work on a school campus and we are going to implement a DRP to provide contingency for the school in the event of fire, flood, etc.
We have a MS 2003 Server PDC, member servers and MS 2003 Exchange server
We currently have a mirror for our data server in another building, so...
Hi There,
Has anyone seen this. One of our clients is not able to see her entries in Bold when she looks at the monthly view of her calendar. This is making her job difficult as she can't see at a glance what appointments she has to do through out the month.
Please help.
regards,
George
Hi There,
We have a HP Color Laserjet 4550 which has started printing approximately 1 in 5 pages with faded or changed colors.
I have checked toner levels and they are fine. I have also taken out the toner and cleaned the printer but still no change.
The unusual thing is it prints most of...
Thanks ITSP1965 it looks like there is a fix in there. My management has opted to purchase a new server and put 2003 on it so it looks like I will be migrating the data over. I will try the fixes anyway.
Thanks again, george
Hi there,
After doing a Netdiag /test:winsock i was returned "[FATAL] cannot initialise winsock". I have also noticed in event viewer that :-
WSAStartup failed to start.
and
The Netlogon service terminated with Service specific error 5737
Is there any way to reset winsock? Or re-install...
Thanks for all your help Mark. I will consider these options for the future, but at the moment I will have to make do with our current backup system as out budget doesn't allow. Thanks Again.
"If your parents never had children, chances are you won't either.
Thanks Mark,
I must have a huge system partition! I like the idea of using IDE external usb drives but it does sound like a lot of investment and as we already have a backup system in place, is this really needed? It sounds very hobbiest is execution, for the home user...in the business arena...
Hi There,
I'm looking at the best way of implementing ASR on my Windows 2003 server. When I get to the point where I have to make the ASR back.bkf I have had conflicting information on where to save this file. Should this be saved on the same harddisk, tape or another server? Microsoft say that...
Trying to install drivers for 18.2GB SCSI ULTRA 3 during the setup of Windows 2003 server after first setting up smartstart.
When i press F6 at the beginning of the text part of the setup nothing happens and it just continues with the setup. I have changed the keyboard but still the same thing...
Thanks ZBnet,
I've just heard from my boss that they are now going to delete the old SMTP addresses after 6 months so that should give everyone time enough to let their correspondents know what their new SMTP addresses are. So they don't require the "out of Office" function. Things change like...
Thanks Zbnet,
But that is not my call. I'm working in a tight assed banking environment and they want to make sure no one is still sending with the old email convention.
We are currently changing our email naming convention from first intial and surname@company.com to firstname.surname@company.com. At the moment we are running both SMTP addresses concurrently within the same mailbox. So we can receive from both.
We are going to delete the old SMTP addresses very...
