    CR XI - OLAP CUBES?

Thank you for your input. So is "speed" the only reason here use of cubes? I'm trying to understand the appeal? Relational databases seem to be able to store much more data that a cube, but I don't know that much about them. So far all I can see is that a cube appears to contain summarized data...

    College vs. Certs.

What a college degree will prep you for is the communications, some of the math, and analytical skills, but the basis of your success is and always has been... your ability to put out quality work, consistently, so as to add to your company, rather than "take away from it." Thanks: MV "What...

    College vs. Certs.

I would simply ask that you reply to my latest comment with something substantial. I believe I have painted an accurate picture of the current state of the industry. How would you reply? Just look at the downsizing that took place within the last decade and how that effect "rippled" across...

    CR XI - OLAP CUBES?

How are OLAP Cubes "created?" Is this like the Relational DB whereas a DBA would need to create the Cube FIRST, before any queries can be done? Just trying to delve into the world of OLAP. Thx Thanks: MV "What would you attempt to do... if you knew ... you could not fail?

    College vs. Certs.

Your comment tells me that YOU don't have much experience with "Corporate" America. You can "do nothing" for only so long then there is nowhere left to "do nothing." IF companies in general do not produce, then they are not HERE anymore. I say again, PERFORMANCE is the key to having a...

    College vs. Certs.

A college degree may get you in the door, which is half the battle, but then you will be expected to perform and performance is the name of the game. Hands on experience is the key. Make your choice...and get going at getting the hands on experience. Stop dragging your feet. Provide quality...
