Yep, policy is working. I must not know how to write a batch file? (but it works on a workstation..... )
Any good sources for VB scripting other than what's above?
PS: It does matter where the scrip files are located. Just for giggles, I moved the files out to the desktop where...
No problem mapping with the batch file (copied it to the client and ran it to check if had a syntax error or something). I just don't get the drive mapping when logging on.
Is there something missingin Sharper's instructions above? I've followed those to the letter (and they match my book and...
I'll move the batch files and see how that does. I'm logging off and then logging in. Periodically, I'll even do a 'restart' just to make sure I'm not on crack.
.....more to come?
Again, thanks for the help!
Wow! That's a sweet tool.
Policy is applied under the user node. It's even named 'Accounts logon'. I'm not experienced using the GPMC, but it's up and running. I'll check into the reports.
I'm a little concerned about the linking, but if it's showing in GPRESULT, isn't it linked?
I've got...
I just ran 'gpupdate' on both the server and the client and still get the same results with no mapped drive on the client machine. I am able to 'net use....etc.' from a command line on the client machine and the server machine. .
Again, thanks for your assistance!
I included the GPUPDATE on the server so people would know I applied the group policy before logging in to a workstation as a user (read that somewhere, I think).
I'll take the *.bat file out of the computer startup policy.
Thanks for the quick response :D
Oh, and I guess I should let people know what's in my *.bat file.
net use J: \\<servername>\<sharedfolder> /persistent:no
I'm sure that will get a little more interesting with time, but just trying to keep it simple to get things working.
I'm coming to this party kinda late and have a *.bat file attached to a GPO. For some reason it doesn't seem to process even after a GPUPDATE from the 'run' line.
I've even followed Sharper's post to the letter (I've got a security group and GPO named 'accounts' now :D). The only...
I'm considering upgrading to GW 7 ONLY for our MAC clients. Is the Cross-Platform client better in GW7 than 6.5? Does it have a 'notify' feature? They do advertise spellcheck.
I've got it up and running on the Windows client/server side. I'm having a difficult time with WebAccess installing and with the MAC client that does NOT have a supported 'notify' feature (one of the main reasons for us to upgrade from 6.0--Thanks or something, Novell).
I've had no abbends or...
