Hi there,
I just downloaded the "download" version of Mandrake 10 but haven't installed it yet.
Does anyone know how to configure the installation so that it doesn't automatically boot to a GUI? I would prefer to boot to a logon prompt, enter a username and password and then startx, but I...
I am a great believer in combo boxes and use them in many situations to simplify form completion for the user.
Only thing is, when the list gets long (for example I have a CB based on a table field with over 100 items in an alphabetical list) I am not able to drag the scroll bar because as soon...
Hi Onyxpurr,
I am a newbie, but I always seem to come up with grandeous design plans. The past 3 days I've been all over the web trying to figure out how to make those pesky combo boxes cascade. I diligently tried every suggestion I could lay my hands on.
Yours was the only code that...
Hi there,
I have a domain workstation PIII 866MHz, 128MB SDRAM, Windows NT 4.0 SP6a, Office 2000 SR1.
This is the reception computer here. The position has been a "revolving door", and each person who functions in the position needs the same resources. So this time around, I cloned...
Hi Guys,
I am opening my reports from a switchboard button. As soon as I figured out where to put the DoCmd statement, it worked great!
Thanks for the help.
Rob
I have two reports that I frequently view and print. Each time I open the report it opens in a small window. How would I go about changing the behavior to open maximized?
Please be very specific, this is my first Access application.
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I have a question about Linux routing that doesn't seem to be documented anywhere. To begin with, I have a PII machine running Mandrake Linux 8.1 (kernel 2.4.8), with two interfaces (eth0 and eth1). Eth0 connects directly to a cable modem and the Internet, eth1 is configured as IP...

Thanks guys for all of the great tips. Turns out I was just trying to make this WAY too hard.
I have EZ CD Creator and sure 'nuff when I tried the "create CD from image file" option everything worked just like it was supposed to. I had visited that option before, but because the...
Calling anyone with the time and patience to help a floundering idiot. At least that is what I feel like at the moment.
To begin with, I have a compelling reason to install RedHat on my server-to-be computer. Last week a friend loaned me his Redhat 7.1 distro, I burned copies and was all...
I have been running Norton CE for a couple of years, but am now testing eTrust (InnoculateIT) because of numerous problems with Norton. So far so good with eTrust, it is working well, and far less annoying to administer than Norton.
Good luck,
Rob
Installed the first (of I'm sure many) XP Pro workstations on the LAN today. Everything went really well, except I cannot browse the XP box from the file server. I can ping it just fine, but I can't see it. I wanted to send the user's data from his old hard drive back over the wire, but I...
I am an OJT self-trained network tech., I built a LAN about 3 years ago, and now maintain and administer it. I started to study for CCNA several months ago, with Sybex Study Guide, plus Keystone Learning Systems videos (all Todd Lamle). I haven't had much time to focus on it, and now my...
A couple of months ago, I filled out an employment app I found online in the form of a Word doc. Now, whenever I open Word, instead of starting with a blank page, this completed form shows-up. In explorer it is te097090.doc. I have tried deleting it, but it just keeps coming back. There...
Fotec (a leader in fiber optic components) offers on line training for terminating fiber as well as Cat3/5, through their Cable University "CableU". I think the training costs about $70, but you get drilled on the basics and when you're through you'll be punching down and making patch...
I had the same problem. A Pentium 200MMX CPU with 2 DIMM slots. I tried to use PC-100 RAM and got the same result you did. Turns out the front side bus is only 66 MHz. I think that may be the problem you are having.
I say ditto to the Maxtor recommendation. That is all I use now. They are about as dependable a product as you'll find, easy to install and the performance is great.
If you are building a high-performance box, I suggest you go the extra mile and get two drives and a Promise Technologies RAID...
When receiving mail in MS Outlook 2000, the attachments end up as part of the message and are completely garbled and unreadable.
This is only happening on one machine. User has PGP installed, and I am wondering if this has anything to do with it.
Haven't tried re-installing yet. Any thoughts...
