    How can I stop the loop in order to get anywhere? It seems to be locked into this loop. I can't figure out to do ANYTHING but turn it off and on.

    VirusScan locking up on saiehook.dll

    Thanks so much, I tried to remove them before but I couldn't, but I will try the steps on the iamnotageek pages you led me to. I did run spybot S&D and it found 125+ things to fix. I guess that's why I assumed this was innocent. Is there an equivalent to spybot for malware?

    VirusScan locking up on saiehook.dll

    VirusScan opens with an alert box that points to saiehook.dll (I'm pretty sure saie = search assistant for internet explorer) This locks up everything in XP. Any way to tell VirusScan to ignore what seems to be an innocent file?
