Good morning,
We have 2 Nexus 7010's, Nexus-A in our main data center, Nexus-B out in our DR site. They are in a vPC configuration. Our main office has 4 IDF closets (stacks of 3750X), 2 closets upstairs/2 closets downstairs. All clostes are vPC'd to both Nexus'.
Yesterday, I added a 2nd DHCP...
I understand keeping the distribution layer off of the Nexus. We have a collapsed core. However, in 3 months, we will be taking ALL direct connections off of the Nexus and adding it to a 3750 for distribution. Until then, I need to add these new vlans into our network to handle the new addition...
Good morning,
I had to create 2 new VLANS on our Nexus 7K, Vlan 151(voice) and Vlan 152(data), for our newly built warehouse. How do I configure the Nexus 7K to be the gateway for both of these new vlans?
Thank you
Thanks,
Chad

Hello...we have a VG224 with 4 bad ports, per TAC. Cisco sent me the replacement and I am needing to swap it out. I have copied the config to notepad from the existing VG224. I've tried pasting this via putty, but it errors out in many areas of the config. The admin is out on vacation...can...
Hi ADB100,
you are correct in your assessment. We provide DSL via our own in house Occam. We place modems out and share it through these 2960s. The DSL is not part of our corporate network.
The reason we want to stop this, is some of these contractors have a good relationship with some of our...
Thanks baddos,
the 2 routers that I have noticed thus far also had LAN ports that they were sharing amongst in the cubicle cluster, so I thought BPDU packets would be sent via those ports. I already have port security enabled w/ MAC restrictions but that isn't working correctly either. Thanks...
Hello,
We have 4 IDF closets that each hold a large stack of 3750X series switches. We also provide DSL access to our contractors via 1 modem in each closet plugs into a 2960G switch that mounts below the stack and is shared through the 2960. These contractors are bringing in wireless routers...
Thanks for your replies...looks like these are over $1000.00. I think the Centrex line option is probably the way to go then.
Thanks

Thanks Triton101, yes, that NT8D09 is the card we currently have. Does anyone know of the card that would enable this feature? Or...does anyone have any other creative idea as to accomplish my task?
Thanks

Good afternoon,
I have an extension that is used as a "community information" line for the local residents. Recently, it has been flooded by callers out of state (same 4 numbers all of the time). I want to stop these callers, but I know that my switch does not provide this functionality to...
Ugh...sorry curlycord, I meant a Nortel 61c. I am out of the office now, so Im not sure exactly what software version we are at. Im sure it is fairly current though, as the previous guy kept things updated regularly. Thanks for your reply

Thanks for the explanations! VinceWhirlwind, you mention, "The passive components in the path of the connection must: - match the active components (eg, OM3 cable with SX, singlemode with LH)" I have been planning on using GLC-LH-SM-CX SFP's in 2960G (WS-C2960G-24TC-L) regardless of multi-mode...
Thanks for the input...I do have the correct single mode patch cables shipping here tomorrow. The frustrating thing is that we have a wide variety of fiber throughout the facility. We use single-mode, multi-mode, and hybrid. I was just hoping on not having to rely on all of the different types...
Thanks unclerico,
I have a 6 foot LC to ST Mode Conditioner cable (multi-mide 62.5)but some of my research showed that it wouldn't work. So, are you saying that as long as all of my patch cables are mode conditioning, they will work fine regardless of single mode or multi mode? We have lots of...
Good morning...If single mode fiber has been ran all the way up to and terminated on the patch panel, can we then use a multi-mode patch cable from the patch panel to the switch (Cisco 2940) and into the SFP (GLC-LH-SM)?
Thank you

Gentlemen,
I hate to bring this back up, but I had never had a chance to test this out properly due to a huge staff reduction. I am pretty much a lone ranger in IT now. However, a non invited test happened Wednesday this week. Our main server (email, print, file, DHCP, DNS, Domain Controller)...
we are not looking to switch to SQL 2008 until maybe 2010. Our business system is not yet compatible with it.
Thanks for the links jymm, this will give me some reading to do. There's ALOT of good information on the msdn site. I have read several articles and obviously need to read more. I...
So jymm, with your understanding of RS, and even VS, IS it possible to have an initial web-based login page on the front end (that would integrate with AD) and the users could log in just that 1 time at that initial page and the credentials would be used throughout the remainder of the session...
Yes, but we use PPTP hosted via a 2801 router, not from a Windows Server, so our users authentication takes place on the router via a pre-programmed list of usernames and passwords. And then, I have the access lists set up to allow access by these VPN IP addresses. So, in my case, I don't think...
