    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

sounds good. I'm not sure what other advise to offer. You might try and start a fresh thread on this problem. I can't think of any other place the server name appears in the profile. Sorry I could be more help, Haggart

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

Once the certificate is installed it should NOT ask about it again. Does the certificate show the correct name/address for the remote Exchange Server, when you 'view' it (which is where you install it too)?

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

The only one I know is the "https://mail.server.com/rpc" test. It should ask you about viewing and installing a certificate (if you haven't done it already) then it should ask for you user name and pass. If all is well, it will tell you you're not allow to read this folder. Have you done this...

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

The 'msstd:' address should be the same address as the 'https:' one, just with 'msstd:' in front of the address. So, my is yes for the 'msstd:' question. In the 'E-mail Accounts' window (same one with 'more settings' button), did you change the Microsoft Exchange Server entry to the...

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

I had a simmiliar problem, but once I changed the 'Exchange Proxy Settings' to the remote exchange server's information it started trying to connect to it instead of the local server. Or am I missing what you're asking? I would not open the RPC ports. They aren't needed, only the HTTPS port.

Passing a value/record between 'Data Access Pages'

What's the best way to pass a value (label, text field, or combo box, - don't matter) between two Data Access Pages? Or to say it another way... say I made a Dictionary Data base and I want to look up the word "LOST". I have a 'Data Access Page' that allows me to enter/select "LOST". How do I...

Creating a VPN connection between a PIX 501 and a D-Link VPN router

I've been experimenting with creating a VPN tunnel using a PIX 501 and a D-Link VPN router (DI-824VUP). Has anyone had sucess connecting two networks this way? Or should I be considering a PIX to PIX connection? Or a D-Link to D-Link? Currently, the PIX allows 5 users to VPN into the main...

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

Yes. A solution has been found. I didn't do two things. One was to install the certificate on the client machine during the "https://mail.server.com/rpc" test. So, when the challenge box comes up stating the security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust and you...

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

Yes, NSlookup comes up with the correct IP address. I also checked the certificate for this (in SBS2003) and made sure the names match exactly.

    Outlook, Exchange, and RPC-HTTP

I've been working my way through setting up a RPC-HTTP connection between Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003. It's to the point that an internal (within the local network and domain) RPC-HTTP connection seems to work fine. Also, I've used IE to connect to Exchange's RPC folder (example -...

setting up a VPN link between Cisco PIX 501 and D-Link (DI-824VUP)

Does anyone have some experience setting up a VPN tunnel between a Cisco PIX 501 and D-Link Wireless VPN router (model DI-824VUP)? I've been looking for documents on D-Link's and Cisco's site, but haven't found much. Currently, the VPN users connect to the PIX with Cisco's VPN software client...

Access connecting to MS-SQL thru Cisco VPN client and PIX

Thanks for checking this out ArtieChoke. The VPN client's O/S is XP Pro. Still, it's strange. The VPN clients must log into the network domain. If they don't provide a domain user name and password, they can't log into Outlook or the file server. The Access database file that uses the ODBC...

Access connecting to MS-SQL thru Cisco VPN client and PIX

VPN clients don't see any local machines via the network neighorhood (or the like). VPN clients do receive a challenge box and ask for user name and password. But, the servers DHCP (SBS2003) doesn't show any VPN machines because the PIX hands out VPN client IPs. I logged in as a VPN client...

Access connecting to MS-SQL thru Cisco VPN client and PIX

Yes, the local systems are part of a domain (SBS 2003) and any VPN clients much logon to the domain to access the server and network in general.

Access connecting to MS-SQL thru Cisco VPN client and PIX

I have a workstation (XP Pro) being used as a test server for a trial version of Microsoft SQL. This test server also houses an EasyPHP setup. Several local workstations have been able to connect to the test server either via the web site server (IP or by name) or through ODBC into the SQL...
