r937 - When I do a view source after the page has been rendered I do not see the HTML tags that are embedded in the data in the DB.
Also, it has come to my attention that the application server where the ColdFusion is processed is a "Blue Dragon" server and not a Macrodmedia server. I don't...
Here's the code:
I have HTML markup stored in the DB surrounding the data in the posting_guidelines field.
<CFQUERY NAME="get_jobs" DATASOURCE="csoradb" USERNAME="chance03" PASSWORD="******">
SELECT posting_id, affiliate_name, annc_date, exp_date, position_title, dept_name, f_name, l_name...
In the DB for example I have some data surrounded with bold tags and pull it to the web page using a simple SELECT statement within a CFQUERY before the opening HTML tag and then pull the variable into the BODY of the page using CFOUTPUT.
You know what... perhaps I just answered my own question...
Hello,
I'm pulling HTML marked up data from an Oracle DB using ColdFusion, however the HTML is not being applied to the data when it is pulled to the web page.
What am I missing?
Thanks
Feherke,
That's exactly what I want to do and I was able to do that. The only problem is when I pull it out of the database onto a web page the data is not bolded and there are not line breaks where they should be.
Perhaps I posted this in the wrong forum - maybe the problem is on the server...
I'm looking for a simple way of adding HTML tags like <b>sample data</b> and sentence1
<br>
sentence2 within my tables so that when I pull out that data onto a web page it displays accordingly.
Thanks
FALCONSEYE,
Thanks for the post. Unfortunately I was unable to get your method to work. Although I did not get any errors the customer last name output was replaced with just cus_lname.
At any rate, I found a co-worker that was able to assist me. Here is a look at his solution in case you are...
I'm still learning the ropes of ColdFusion, so please forgive my ignorance. Today I was just creating a simple query against a DB for some customer records and recieved a parsing error. Basically I know what the problem is, but I don't know how to fix it .
As I indicated, I'm just querying...
Holy cr@p guys, I got back into my system [shocked] !
I was on my wife's lappy tonight and read a guy's post in some obscure forum who said something about a new BIOS's he tried flashing had problems with memory being in a dual-channel configuration. He said all he did was remove a stick of...
Well thanks everyone for your help, but I went ahead and ordered a BIOS replacement chip and am having it overnighted to me.
I did clear the CMOS and removed the battery to no avail. Also, I could not boot from the floppy. The CrashFree BIOS utility would read files from a floppy, but it would...
It goes to the POST screen and a message appears that says "CMOS Checksum Error: Default Settings Loaded". I then can press F1 to continue or DEL to enter the BIOS settings.
Pressing F1 simply takes me to another screen where it says Phoenix AwardBIOS at the top with a white bordered area of...
Yeah, I did try re-flashing it several times with the latest BIOS and I get the same results. Obviously my motherboard really does not like the latest BIOS at all :-(
Ok, to try and make a long story short I flashed a corrupt BIOS file to my brand new Asus A8N-E motherboard last night. I flashed BIOS version 1011 (official from Asus's web site) and would like to revert back to the BIOS that shipped with the motherboard which is version 1010.
Fortunately...
OK, I just finished putting Fedora Core 4 on a separate internal IDE HDD while keeping WInXP on my SATA HDD. Upon installing Fedora I chose to install the Grub bootloader so that I could dual boot from either OS and told it by default to boot to WIndows (which is on my SATA HDD) and otherwise I...
Hi, I am considering purchasing a new monitor (specifically the Dell 2005FPW 20" LCD) and was curious if the 9700 Pro card that I have supports widescreen resolutions? If so, does it more specifically support 1680x1050 which Dell indicates is the optimum resolution for that particular display...
Yes, the browser cache is set to update automatically. Also, I can right-click in the top frame and choose refresh, but it does not do anything. Seeing how it works in other browsers both frames are supposed to reload every time I go from page to page, yet in Opera it only reload the lower frame...
For some reason my University has a browser sniffer in place that prevents me from using Opera 8 to log on to my course sites.
Long story short, I obtained Proxomitron and was able to fake the browser id so the University web site sees Opera as IE. Now I can log on to my account and pull up a...
