Has anybody tried the trendline option in Crystal 9?
I have a report originally created in v8.5 with a chart and trendline. After converting the report to version 9 I have discovered that I can't modify the existing trendline nor add a new trendline.
Has anybody had the same problem or anybody...
Thanks ... but wouldn't this still leave me in the same position. Currently I have 12 Grand Totals (coming from the 12 monthly fields) and if I use your suggestion I would have 12 Variables - but still no way to graph these.
Why? Becasue normally I would be working with data that had 1 record...
I need to produce a sales history chart - just a standard bar chart showing sales per month.
Simple? Yes ... except each record in my datasource holds all twelve months figures
ie -
Account Number, Jan Sales, Feb Sales, Mar Sales, etc
Can anybody explain how (if) I can do this

I have always found that using an Alias gets around these problems. But it must be set when you start the report.
If you set an Alias then you can change the location of the table without any formula, grouping, chart or anything else getting messed up.

after some more investigation I have discovered that the 'next scheduled run time' of my reports has changed ... so my previously 12:05 report is now scheduled to next run at 11:05.

Here in New Zealand our Daylight Saving finished during the weekend and all our clocks went back 1 hour. Our Cystal Enterprise server did this automatically (WinNT) and shows the correct time - both before and after a reboot.
However all my reports are starting an hour before they are scheduled...
I am currently doing this using the 'special date' suggestion from earlier. I have 2 parameters - start and end dates - and 2 formulas that convert the dates to previous month if they = 1/1/1970. It works great

I report I created uses running totals in the group footers to get around a problem I have with totaling a field from several records as if it were one.
Anyway, the report runs fine from the designer, and even fine from the designer installed on the server. But...
Yes ... and no. The offline viewer allows you to apply additional filters but does not restrict which fields you can filter on. I would like to be able to only allow filtering on specific fields - the same ones that are parameters in the original report.
