OK> Here it is. The solution. I had the same problem, and it seems to be specific to ME upgrades to XP.
You need to re-register certain Dlls and Ocxs in System32. This command allows you to do the lot.
Exactly as it appears:
FOR %a IN (c:\winnt\system32\*.dll,c:\winnt\system32\*.ocx) DO...
