Thanks for the quick and accurate responses.
I wired up the 2 extra power supplies and the cache was
enabled, without having to replace the one bad disk.
At the moment, I haven't changed the configuration from
when I purchased the FC5310 and 1 DAE. I copied how they
had it wired for communications and power.
For faults, I have one disk that is bad and has been
replaced by a hot spare. Would that stop me from enabling
write chache?

I have a FC5310, which reports itself to be a FC5200. I tried
using the following 2 commands to enable the write cache:
./navicli -h hostName -d clsp0 setcache -wc 1
./navicli -h hostName -d clsp0 setcache -wsza 188 -wszb 188 -wc 1 -p 8 -rsza 50 -rszb 50 -rca 1 -rcb 1

start to update the sun server that had been
controlling the emc box. I was putting it off...

and I've gone through the posts about using the serial
console to get to the fcli> prompt. I'm actually plugged
