Hello
I have 2 windows 2000 servers each with CE9 installed and am clustering them together.
The system db is on Oracle on a UNIX box.
All sers are Crystal users.
This has worked well for many years, but suddenly I got a WCS problem. As a solution I deleted the WCS and recreated it.
Now when...

Problem is with BOE XI R2.
Migrated some reports from CE8.5 - these reports were designed to export to Excel and when they did so you could see the column headings in the resultant spreadsheet that were text objects in the Page Header in the report design.
In BOE XI R2 however, the page header...
The problem was resolved by the installation of the btrieve client (sounds obvious I know). The btrieve client then presented itself in the list of data sources (ie separate from the database files under which the ddf extension is listed).
I click on "database files" and then browse to the File.DDF
then the error messages are:
"Failed to Load Database Information"
followed by
"Unknown database connection error"
I am then returned to the database expert with no connection.
Yep that is the one that I loosely refer to in the original post. Problem is I just have no experience of this Pervasive native connection - I presume that involves some sort of client.
What I also am unclear about is whether there are any versioning issues - i.e. CR XI works with what version...
We have an old application that has Btrieve as its database (don't have the version as it part of app - prob circa 1995). We connect to the Btrieve with Crystal Reports 8.5 via Data Dictionary Files (DDF).
Now we are moving to Crystal Reports XI R2 and struggling to see how we continue to...
According to the platform.pdf Oracle 8.1 is no longer supported.
It seems that a report schedule will just start running and then crashes.
Has anyone got BOE XI or XIr2 working with a native connection for Oracle 8.1?
Is there a workaroud?
Jonathan
Hello
In BO 6.x you could schedule a vbscript to run that could carry out tasks such as splitting a report by department into separate PDF files.
With BOE XI r2 it is no longer to run a VBScript file that plugs in to the BO Classic SDK as the BO Classic SDK is no longer there (as far as I can...
I know it's not generally a good idea, but has anyone installed CE9, CE10 or BOEXI on a box running MS Exchange 2000? I have a customer that wants to do this, but I am looking if there are valid reasons for not doing so.
The alternative is to install on a PDC, which again is not ideal, but...
Does anyone know if it is possible to set user preferences globally in BOE XI? I know about the viewer type through the CMC, I was thinking of the objects per page, visibility of info on report (owner, instances etc), whether menus shown or not and the initial view after log on.
thanks for any help
I have found now that the problem is broader. If I implement single sign on with Active Directory I find that the DHTML viewer does not show images.
What is causing this is the
<identity impersonate="true"/>
line that you have to put in to web.config. Why that is causing the problem and what...
I don't think it can be done. I believe this is intentional because a user may be a member of any number of groups and that doesn't map very neatly to a single line of selection formula whcih is what is required in the Data Foundaton in the Business View technology.
I have successfully implemented single sign on for BOE XI.
However I have found a side effect in that now when a user receives a system generated email containing a hyperlink to an instance and clicks on the link, the viewer will sopen and show the report, but the user will not see any images in...
