Import record info from one table into another as a drop down list

Sorry to be a pain - I understand how to make the relationship, but can't get the correct records to show in the value list. I am getting confused when I need to define the value list. It asks me to "Use values from field:(Specify Field)" I cannot figure out which field to choose there. It...

Import record info from one table into another as a drop down list

OK - I am following you up until: "Make a valuelist 'LiveJobs', use values from field, use value from first field, specify your relationship, include only related values." Would it be possible to expound on this a little bit more? I am not understanding what you are specifying. What do you...

Import record info from one table into another as a drop down list

Thanks for the reply! I think I am half way there already, but can't figure out the rest. I currently have a field called "LiveCompleteBilled" which uses a value list with each option. So all jobs are tagged as one of those three. So how do I get a valuelist field (or function) in the other...

Import record info from one table into another as a drop down list

I am having a problem doing this in FMP 8.5. I have a table with all of my jobs (as separate records). I want to create a time sheet table for employees to log their job functions in. I need to have the time sheet table be able to show only the live jobs (after a find is performed) and have them...

Print setup not keeping info in scripts?

I have an HP printer that has several trays that it can print from. I have gone through my scripts and specified which tray to pull from, and it works for a while. Then all of the sudden, it will go back to "automatically select" and I have to go through everything again. Can anyone help me get...

    Upgrading to FMP8.5 from 6.0?

Thanks for your help! I have been converting everything for the past three months on my computer (it has been quite difficult) and am now ready to go live with it across the company. I wanted to make sure I could go back to version 6 if we had to, just in case there are any unforseen bugs.

    Upgrading to FMP8.5 from 6.0?

I am in the process of upgrading all users in my company to 8.5 from 6.0. If I buy the 8.5 Upgrade Version, will we still have 6.0 on all computers of does it override the program? My concern is that we will still need to run the 6.0 files for a while until all bugs are worked out of the 8.5...

Importing records into a different table

I am using FM 8.5, and have an issue. I have several tables (Job Ticket & Schedule) built in the same file. I need to have the live job records imported into the schedule table for production to organize. Once a job is completed, they can "delete" it from the Schedule table, but the records MUST...

    Can you combine databases?

Using FMP 6.0, is there an easy way to combine several databases (layouts and fields) into one? If not, would upgrading to FMP 7.0 help at all? Thanks! Mike

Rounding up a number no matter what?!

Thanks a lot! Sometimes the answer is easier than I expected. I got too hung up on formulas and operations - forgot about simple math!

Rounding up a number no matter what?!

Please help - Using Filemaker 6.0, how can I get a calculation to round up to the next number no matter what the result is (as long as there is a remainder)? i.e. - if we need 1700 widgets, but they only come in boxes of 500, I need to purchase 4 boxes, not 3 or 3.4. Is there any way to do...

Allowing input into a field ONLY if certain requirements are met

I am trying to create a field that will only allow input if previous field values allow it. For example: If Field A >=10 and Field B >=10, then allow input, if not, don't allow it. If have been trying all types of functions, but cannot figure it out.
