    PRI with DIDs

As I said earlier, I do have my PRI working in Key mode, but I'll wait to post the PRI print until I have both the main and individual numbers working. Or (perish the thought!) until it doesn't work. I'm still waiting for my carrier to point some numbers besides the test number to my PRI TG.

    PRI with DIDs

CarGoSki, you hit the nail on the head. The customers do indeed want to be able to see, feel, and touch each line for incoming and outgoing calls. They want to see the line light up as each call comes in and the AA (I know I didn't mention AA in the previous posts, but I was trying to...

    PRI with DIDs

Yes, aussie88, I think we're both looking for the same solutions here. However, you had the good sense to setup your system in PBX mode, so you have more options. I currently only have my test number working. I've asked my carrier to point one of my seldom-used 800-numbers to my trunk group...

PRI in Legend as Key system

Ok, I now have outgoing calls working (I needed to make some changes to the operator category in the special service table) . To get the incoming service working, I needed to assign the test number (the only one currently in service with the provider) to a line and REMOVE IT as test number...

PRI in Legend as Key system

Thanks, folks, for the responses. This PRI has only 4 B-channels in addition to the D-channel. The rest of the T1 is used for data. It's not a problem to assign these 4 lines to our MLX-10D phones. Now that I understand the the configuration was asking me to MAP the automatically created lines...

PRI in Legend as Key system

My Merlin Legend release 6.1 documentation ( I have a releae 7 system) has conflicting information as to whether or not I can provision a PRI trunk in Key mode. So folks, can I configure a PRI trunk using a 100D module on my Legend R7 system in Key mode? If yes, I'm a bit confused as to how I...

hold/pickup on multiple appearance coverage buttons

Well, TTTommy, that's in interesting alternative. I assume I can still have the merlin messaging AA answering those 4 incoming lines, even though they are 'private' on the 4 extensions. I'll just set the private lines on the extensions to no ring, as they are now in key mode. Can I get the...

hold/pickup on multiple appearance coverage buttons

crvbob, thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, as I mentioned in the original post, this system is operating in Key mode, so there are no SA buttons to share. They want key mode so they don't have to dial '9' before making outside calls, which they do often. They just about never make...

hold/pickup on multiple appearance coverage buttons

Thanks for the solution! Now I just need to buy an analog board. They show up on ebay from time to time, but they get bid up rather high. The 008-MLX are much cheaper. I guess I'll have to pay the bucks and get one. Too bad there's no way to do this with configuration.

hold/pickup on multiple appearance coverage buttons

Well Merlinman, I'm not afraid of a little tricky business! Four inbound lines are on an 800 GS/LS. So, we have four spare inbound ports, if that's what you were getting at. Extensions are on an 008 MLX. I have a full spare 008-MLX, so 8 more spare extension jacks to play with...

hold/pickup on multiple appearance coverage buttons

There was some discussion of this in March with the title of "On Hold Light Blink" but my users want to have their cake and eat it too! I have a similar situation, and I understand from the docs that the system is working as designed. I'd like to find an alternative configuration that will be...

Does MFM need external power supply?

SYQUEST, thanks for the correction on the MLX-20L. My fingers where out of sync with my brain. Of course there is no MLX-20D. I meant to say that my MLX-20L had no DSS attached. I do have the wiring diagram you mention, which is my source for concluding that pins 1/2 are not connected and all...

Does MFM need external power supply?

Thanks all for the helpful advice. To further describe my setup: MLX-20D had no DSS, just MFM. Other phone tested was MLX-10D, in case the MLX-20D was drawing too much power. There is only 1 cabinet. It is lightly loaded. For this test, there are only 3 phones plugged in: 1 MLX-20D (no DSS...

Does MFM need external power supply?

Yes, merlinman, I do indeed have all 4 pair coming to the phone, since I've plugged the phone directly into the 008-MLX port with an 8-conductor straight thru cable. Still, it doesn't seem to work. To better understand your response, I wonder why you suggest 4 pair, when my Merlin Legend...

Does MFM need external power supply?

I've read all of the posts (2 years worth!), but still haven't seen a definitive answer on the need for external power for an MFM. I just installed an MFM into an MLX-20D, without external power. I get no dial tone from the aux tel jack. Calls directed to the MFM extension (713, in this case)...

MLX-10DP handset has almost zero volume

I'm setting up a new Merlin Legend system. Board renumbered, set dial plan. MLX-20L and MLX-10DP are connected to 008-MLX. MLX-20L works fine. Only other phone on hand now is MLX-10DP. Speaker phone on MLX-10DP works fine, but volume is handset is so low as to be unusable. Did the following...
