Thanks for your response, I was thinking router because I do not have enough public IP's to give out for all clients. I would need to have a separate non-public IP range for the clients with a DHCP server. Then NAT them out through one Public IP address. Is this not the correct way to do it...

I was thinking of any issues with security on the MSDE database etc..... At the moment users are getting away with secutity permissions cross domain because of a trust between the domains and SID history in there new user accounts. But oviously this will go when it is moved!

I have found the PC I am testing with to be almost back to normal now, last thing done was SP3 for XP. I hope to have the main problem PC back in the office next week to have a look at, I will post further comments once I have more info. Thanks to all for assistance offered so far!

Further update: I have used a utility from Belkasoft to examine all plugins for Windows Explorer(WE), I have run a report of these from the original users profile and the new user on that PC and both are identical so I don't believe it's a plugin in WE causing this.

Update: I have tried loging into the laptop off the network and the local c: drive is still slow to browse. Windows XP SP3 has been installed and made no difference.
