Computer keeps on re-starting over and over.
press F8 before the splashscreen(in windows 98) comes up, or if your running windows 95, then press F8 when you see: Starting Windows 95" -- then choose "Safe Mode" I laos had this problem a few years back when upgrading, although my end soution was a very serious and costly one...- CybrGoon

Can't install NICs
I had a similar problem too. I found it was an older device card(my old Sound blaster) being VERY cranky about the IRQ it was assigned ... I set the PnP portion in my bios to exclude this particular IRQ, and everything worked very well afterwards. Of course, as it happens, I sold the sound...- CybrGoon
