chkdsk /r hanging on reboot
Got it. As we had just figured out a way around this server (using database backups etc.), the server completed it's chkdsk /r after 29.5 hours!!! Thanks guys!- Steerpike

chkdsk /r hanging on reboot
On Sunday, I found several bad sectors on my E: (4 Gb IDE)alerted in the event viewer (NT Server 4.0, SP6A). I scheduled a chkdsk /r, which I understand runs a surface scan, and rebooted. I have run this utility before and it usually takes about 10 minutes to complete, so I was alarmed 18...- Steerpike
