So I ended up with one of the 1616Is that fell victim to the default mac address problem. If I take this phone and plug it in on the same network that a customer's 8.1.73 is on it knocks all of the other 1616s off the network and locks up.
I was messing around on an old 7.0 bench system and for...
This has nothing to do with hotdesk users. It was a brand new install and replacing the phone, once I found which one was causing it, solved the problem. I've had bad phones before but never one that knocked out all of the other IP sets on the network. I'm just glad it was a small install.
Ever had a 1616 knock out 12 other 1616s when it starts downloading files? Sends all the other phones into discover just about the time it wants you to enter the Ext number and then just beeps when you press ok for the password.
Hard to beat NEC when it comes down to cost vs profit. I don't like programming them and I think the phones look cheap but they don't rape you with PRI channel licenses and little stuff like that. They seem to be feature rich and you can program them through a phone or with the admin software...
Didn't work. Had a bunch of changes to do in a limited amount of time so I didn't spend a bunch of time on it but seems like the call would revert back to the first member in the hunt instead of forwarding to the short code. When I dialed the new user (503) it worked fine so I know the short...
Customer wants incoming call on a DID to ring receptionist (ext200) 3 times, then ring ext 297 3 times, ext 298 3 times and then go to ext 297's mailbox. Is this possible with embedded? Closest I've gotten is putting them all in a huntgroup in that order, setting it to sequential with the ring...
That's the first thing to check when calls start going to the operator like that. Had a trashy AT&T circuit once that would send a star with the digits sometimes and since the Merlin didn't see a route like that it would send the call to the operator. I went round and round with them until they...
I wouldn't replace the processor just yet. If you take the phone and plug it straight in the EXT port on the processor does it still not work? Any way you can take a spare known good phone and leave it plugged in an unused EXT port on the processor to monitor?
Do you have a spare license card for the VS? These things were bad about being corrupt when they were new from Lucent/Avaya and now it's had God knows what done to it. You can buy a used 2 port card on ebay right for $20 or best offer so that would be a cheap test.
Not an answer to the poster's question but what is the point of having each line appear on the set? It's been my experience that when you are upgrading to an IP Office, or any system, that you just explain to the customer that there is no need with the new technology and, that, by pressing a 9...
Need to send a single POTS line over the LAN from building A to Building B and then convert back to POTS to connect to an analog trunk port on the IP Office in building B. This is a straight LAN connection over fiber, no router. Will the Grandstream do what I need or is there a better product...
Going to assign the Partner line number with IP Office ext on it to the sets so it should act like a CO line on incoming calls and if they select it on the Partner phones they can dial hunt groups or individuals on the IP Office. Was mainly concerned about disconnect, especially on the Partner...
One office has a IP Office 7.0 and the other has a Partner ACS. If you have a third party endpoint license for the IP Office and you have a VPN connection between the two offices is there any reason you couldn't install a Patton M-ATA at the office with the Partner and plug the RJ11 into an...
I'm an Avaya guy so please excuse my ignorance but I'm guessing I should be programing the mail through the serial port on the front and a laptop. You can't set up AA selector codes through a phone?
How do you program selector codes for the main AA greeting and will this box pass caller id to the stations when a caller transfers from the AA to a group like 500?
