Inspiron 8100 Hard drive *stuck -no device detected
new update, got adapter for hard drive and hooked up to desktop, it spun! Problem is my motherboard only support one pin set (K8). Sooo... i need an adapter for the 40 pin that is used in my raid so i can plug it into my other adapter end -44 pin. Hard too find such parts :( If i can find it...- icepilot

how was hard drive recovery? Did they trransfer files or apps n files. Can they jus place disc into new drive if undamaged??- icepilot

Drive make clicking noise, somebody suggested might be Rotor? Trying sticking in freezer- no luck. No indication previously to impending destruction. IBM 30 GB ATA/IDE no help at IBM, or the buck passed to Hitachi. Any recourse other than HD recovery specialists? Inspiron 8100 30 GB IBM...- icepilot
